The rule that covers everything
If you'd wear it to the gym, the beach, the game or the job site, you can't wear it in. Every major room on the Strip runs the same baseline: upscale nightlife attire, enforced hardest on men. Get that right and the door is a formality. Get it wrong and no table, no host and no amount of money fixes it at midnight.
Men: what works, what doesn't
| Works everywhere | Depends on the room | Turned around at the door |
|---|---|---|
| Collared shirt, button-up or a clean fashion tee under a jacket | Plain fashion tee with no jacket | Jerseys, tanks, anything with a team on it |
| Dark jeans, chinos, dress pants | Light or distressed jeans | Shorts, joggers, cargo pants, track pants |
| Dress shoes, boots, clean fashion sneakers | Bright or chunky sneakers | Running shoes, slides, sandals, work boots |
| No hat | A hat at a hip-hop room, with a table | Fitted caps, beanies, bucket hats |
Women
Far more latitude. Dresses, skirts, tailored pants, jumpsuits, heels, boots, fashion sneakers — all fine. The things that get flagged are the same categories as the men: athletic gear, flip-flops, anything that reads beachwear at a nightclub. Bring flats in the bag; the walk from the valet to the room is longer than it looks.
Room by room
Wynn — XS, EBC at Night
Strictest on the Strip. Collared shirt or a proper jacket, dress shoes or immaculate sneakers, no hats, no exceptions. If you're only going to dress up once, do it here.
LIV, Zouk, Omnia
Fashion-forward. A good fashion tee under a jacket passes; anything athletic doesn't. Omnia checks shoes closely.
Hakkasan, Jewel
Collared shirt or sport coat and nice shoes for men. Jeans are fine if they're not torn.
Marquee, TAO, Drai's
The easiest doors. Upscale casual — a nice tee, jeans and clean shoes get in. Still no jerseys, track gear or hats at Marquee.
Dayclubs and pools
Wear
Real swimwear, a cover-up or linen shirt, sandals or slides, sunglasses. Bring a bag for the walk through the casino.
Don't wear
Athletic shorts as trunks, jeans, cargo shorts, chains, speedos, see-through swimwear. Wynn and Venetian pools enforce all of it.
Reservation cabanas
Same rules; the cabana just means you're not in a line while somebody decides. Shoes come off at the water, not at the door.
After the pool
Pool clothes don't go into a nightclub. If you're doing day-to-night, plan a change — the walk back to the room is part of the day.
The three things people get wrong
"But I have a table"
A table gets you grace on a borderline shoe. It doesn't get a jersey or shorts through a Wynn door.
Packing one outfit
Vegas nights sweat. Two going-out outfits for a two-night trip, minimum, and a jacket in November — the clubs are cold and EBC at Night is outdoors.
The bachelor-party costume
Matching shirts, sashes, the inflatable — fine for the pool, dead at the door of a nightclub. Save the theme for the day.
Unsure about something specific? Text us a photo of the outfit and we'll tell you before you leave the room.
Questions people actually ask
What is the dress code for Las Vegas nightclubs?
Upscale nightlife attire. For men: a collared shirt or a fashion top, dress pants or clean jeans, dress shoes or clean fashion sneakers. No hats, jerseys, athletic wear, shorts, sandals or work boots. For women: almost anything stylish — dresses, heels, fashion sneakers at most rooms.
Can I wear jeans to a Vegas nightclub?
Yes, if they're clean, dark and not ripped. Wynn rooms are the strictest about it; TAO and Marquee are relaxed.
Can I wear sneakers?
Clean fashion sneakers, yes, at most rooms. Running shoes, basketball shoes and anything that looks like gym gear, no. Wynn and Omnia lean stricter.
Are hats allowed in Las Vegas clubs?
Generally no for men — fitted caps, beanies and bucket hats get turned around at the door. Some hip-hop rooms are looser; a table gets you a little latitude.
What do I wear to a dayclub?
Actual swimwear: trunks or a swimsuit, a cover-up, sandals or slides. No athletic shorts, jeans, cargo shorts, chains or see-through swimwear. Bring something for the walk back through the casino.
Does a table change the dress code?
It gives you a little grace — a host walking you in can smooth a borderline shoe — but it doesn't override the rules. Dress right and it's never a conversation.
